      SNOWMOBILE RENTAL PROGRAMS


      Great powder riding is available at Smokey Bear Flat. Self-guided tours include three spectacular backcountry trails that depart the 500-acre snowmobile park. Trails include Bald Mtn, the longest (29 mi.) and highest (9104') trail at Mammoth. There is a log cabin warming hut and historical fire lookout at the top. The View at Bald Mtn is a breathtaking 360 degree view of the Sierra Nevada Mtns. Vista Trail is the most popular 1-hr ride with a 270 degree view. Bald Mtn and Vista Point are the sites of numerous marriage proposals. Lookout Mtn is a spectacular 2-hr ride that encircles the mountain. Guided trips include the Sawmill ride overlooking the town of Mammoth Lakes and other trails east of Hwy. 395 not mentioned above. .

    • Introduction to Snowmobiling Family Ride -- Affordable Family Fun! Take turns with the kids in the 500-acre snowmobile park. Elevation is 7,600 ft.

    • Backcountry Guided and Self-Guided Tours -- Every tour is an adventure. 99% of our riders prefer self-guided tours. Maps are on each snowmobile. Trails are roads. Self-guided routes are marked either line of sight and/or a numbering system (checkpoints). Guided trips are recommended for large groups. Guided routes may differ from self-guided tours and the speed may vary. Departure: 9:30 for 3 and 4 hour rides. 1 and 2 hour rides depart every 30 minutes beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rides end at 3 p.m. For 3-and 4-hour rides water and snacks are recommended. The map pouch on each snowmobile will hold minimal food/gear. Visitors must arrive 30-45 minutes prior to reservation. Visitors returning early from backcountry rides may play in the powder within the 500-acre snowmobile park.
